As part of our employment program, we are now offering counselling services to job seekers.
These services aim to address the various barriers that job seekers may face, and so ultimately enhance their employment opportunities.
ACSO is a member of the Federal Governmet Innovation Fund panel. The Innovation Fund will provide funding for projects to overcome barriers to employment for the most disadvantaged job seekers, including Indigenous Australians, people with mental health conditions, the homeless or those at risk of homelessness, and people from jobless families or who are living in areas of entrenched disadvantage. From 1 July 2009 the Government will be providing $41 million over three years for Innovation Fund projects.

The new employment services aims to increase the focus on the needs of the most disadvantaged job seekers and enable them to receive services that are more appropriate for them.
ACSO has a proud history of providing specialised support and services related to finding employment. We have targeted resources towards highly disadvantaged job seekers who have experienced long term unemployment due to mental illness, disability, drug and alcohol use and offending behaviour.
