The purpose of the Governance Committee is to review developments and latest corporate governance practices in Australia and advise the Council in methods of sustaining organisational principles of Integrity, Accountability and Transparency.

The key activities of the Governance Committee include:
- Review and monitoring of the ACSO Constitution
- Reviewed and update Governance Committee Terms of Reference
- Review of Council membership
- Monitoring of Quality Accreditation activities related to organisational development
- Monitoring of Council induction processes for new Council members
- Monitoring of the Governance policy review system for ongoing review of Council policies and document control
