ACSO provide specialist drug and alcohol assessments, treatment planning and purchase of drug treatment for around 10,000 offenders each year who receive a treatment and rehabilitation component in their community corrections order or parole.  ACSO ensures each person is connected into a wide range of drug treatment services and supports across Victoria that address their problematic drug and alcohol use and its link to their offending behaviour. These services include:

  • Withdrawal programs
  • Residential drug treatment programs
  • Specialist pharmacotherapy programs
  • Counselling and outreach services.

RAPIDS provides a timely and effective link between all Victorian courts and the treatment sector for the highest risk offenders with alcohol and/or substance abuse issues.  We facilitate a same day seamless, and supported transition from initial assessment to community based drug treatment.  RAPIDS is an innovative solution to the identified risk of clients failing to attend assessment appointments and who pose a significant risk to themselves or the community.  ACSO ensures each client is provided with intensive support to get them into a range of drug treatment programs as part of a community corrections order.  These include:

  • Withdrawal programs
  • Residential drug treatment programs
  • Specialist pharmacotherapy programs
  • Counselling and outreach services

Our Disability Case Co-ordination programs support people with intellectual disabilities who are living in the community and who are either involved in the criminal justice system or at risk of involvement.  This is a structured outreach support program where we work with our clients to help them live independently and safely in the community working towards goals we have identified.

Our Residential Service provide long and short term community based residential services.  We operate nine residential programs across Victoria.  Our services provides specialist transitional therapeutic and recovery environments for those who have complex needs, including those with a primary diagnosis of intellectual disability and/or mental illness or acquired brain injury.
