Our Commitment to the Safety of Children and Young People

Australian Community Support Organisation is committed to providing a safe environment for all children and young people. All ACSO employees have a role to play in ensuring a safe environment for children and young people. This includes leadership, employees working with or near children and young people and employees with access to the records of children and young people. We have zero tolerance of child abuse or any other abuse and all allegations and safety concerns will be treated seriously. We have a legal and moral obligation to contact authorities when we are worried about a child’s or young person’s safety, which we will follow. We are committed to preventing all form of abuse, especially child abuse, by identifying risks. We have a robust People & Culture and recruitment practices for all employees and volunteers supported by regular training and education on child safety to ensure we can fulfil this commitment. We support and respect the diversity and individuality of all children and young people, irrespective of age, gender, sexual orientation or identity, belief, ability or culture.
