Julie Buxton

Director

Julie Buxton is a barrister at the Victorian Bar, practising in commercial, public and administrative law, coronial inquests, discrimination and regulatory matters. She has appeared in courts and tribunals across Victoria and New South Wales and acted in high-profile inquests involving vulnerable and Indigenous communities.

Julie has worked extensively across the private, government, and not-for-profit sectors, with a strong focus on Aboriginal justice, human rights, and truth-telling. She has held senior advisory roles, contributed to UN-led transitional justice work, and is a Churchill Fellow.

She currently holds directorships with Cool Australia and the Mai Wiru Sugar Challenge Foundation and serves on several legal committees focused on Indigenous justice and human rights, including the Law Council of Australia’s Indigenous Legal Issues Committee.
